How does CBD react in our body?

Cannabis produces naturally hundreds of cannabinoids and terpenes, which interact positively with the human body. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) present in our body is a complex network of cannabinoid receptors naturally present in the nervous system of the human brain and more generally throughout our body. This complex receptive system interacts with cannabis compounds.

The endocannabinoid system plays an important role in our organism. Among others, it regulates our vital functions such as mood, sleep rhythm, inflammation, appetite, the sensation of pain, memory and so on. Cannabis produces different types of cannabinoids who adapt to cannabinoid receptors in the endocannabinoid system and therefore they can activate the body to perform different processes.

The two main cannabinoid receptors present in the endocannabinoid system are CB1 and CB2.

On one side, CB1 receptors can be found mostly in the brain cells of the central nervous system, and in certain organs and tissues such as the spleen and the heart. On the other side, CB2 receptors are located mainly on the immune cells called Microglia, in which their function remains still uncertain. However, CB2 receptors act as analgesics in the brain.

At present, we are about to understand how an endocannabinoids deficiency in our body may be connected to various symptoms. Such as muscle stiffness, chronic pain and extended muscle stiffness, fatigue and migraines, intestinal and urinary problems, insomnia and sleep disorders, depression and bad mood. It is not surprising that cannabis has positive health effects when considering these simple facts.

Cannabinoids simply work together with the functions of the endocannabinoid system in the organism.

The relationship between CBD and fibromyalgia

Nowadays, researchers have realized few investigations on patients with Fibromyalgia. However, the use of cannabis for this type of disorder not only relieves pain but also it acts on the syndrome-associated symptoms, with sleep improvement in the 81% percentage of the cases.

Deficiencies in cannabinoid levels may be the underlying cause of numerous conditions alleviated by cannabis” – writes Ethan Russo, chief advisor to GW Pharmaceuticals in an extension of his original article on endocannabinoid clinical deficiency (CEDC).

In his article, he pointed out that the endocannabinoid system connects our brain with certain parts and functions of our body. Therefore, a lack of balance of cannabinoids may cause problems in communication.

Clinical cases of people affected by fibromyalgia have explained how CBD oil can relieve pain caused by this disorder.

CBD oil is not a drug. It will not eliminate pain. CBD oil can alleviate the patient from suffering. In other words, the oil of CBD is not an Advil! The use of this product on a daily basis will begin to bring pain relief thanks to the activation of the dormant receptors present in our body. The real benefits of this pain treatment can be seen within the first week. In this link, you can read (in English) a case history regarding the use of CBD oil against fibromyalgia.

Pain treatment and CBD oil

Once again, CBD oil is not a drug! It will not eliminate completely the pain! However, the daily and prolonged use of CBD oil guarantees a physical benefit by relieving the pain caused by fibromyalgia. The daily amount of CBD oil varies individually as it is personal the percentage of CBD present in the oil that you will use. As a matter of fact, stronger is the pain, and higher will be the amount of CBD.

Keep in mind that cannabinoids are not addictive substances and CBD, in particular, does not affect the mental abilities of our brain, as it is not psychoactive.

With this article, Cbweed wishes to help people affected by this disorder.
