Hemp flour in the kitchen: perfect for fresh pasta!
Hemp is super versatile for it’s healthy, and also tasty.
It’s flavour is nutty and gives a rustic hint to sweet and savoury recipies.
Due to this strong and unique flavour, we suggest to use it in combination with other flours. This could also help the process.
With hemp flour we can prepare excellent homemade italian pasta, like tagliatelle, maltagliati or tortelli.
We decided keeping our recipe gluten free, so we used hemp, rice and tapioca flour.
Here’s our complete recipe for a delicious, gluten free, fresh pasta with hemp flour!
These are the ingredients for 2 servings.
Always make sure that everything is gluten free and/or celiac friendly!
90gr. Rice flour
60gr. Hemp flour
50gr. Tapioca flour
5gr. Guar gum
1 egg and 1 egg yolk
20 cc water
You’ll also need a chopping board and a rolling pin, or a pasta maker if you have it.
On a clean chopping board mix the flours together, add salt and guar gum and put the eggs in the middle; start kneading the ingredients while putting a little bit of water, until obtaining a smooth and elastic compound. Cover and let the dough rest for at least 30 minutes.
After this, it’s time to roll out the dough and create the fresh pasta of your choice!
This will taste amazing with vegatable sauces like “boscaiola” or broccoli pesto, and also with seafood. You choose!
